Marlis
Higgins, a graduate of The Wisconsin School of Professional Pet Grooming, has
a passion for pets! A lover of dogs and cats, Marlis embarked (no pun intended)
upon her grooming career after spending too many years in the corporate world.
“I knew there was more to life then managing mundane day-to-day business.
I wanted my fur friends to join me at work so I could attend to their needs
but the needs of the business dictated “no pets allowed”. Heck,
not even on “take your daughter/son to work day” were they allowed
to visit”!
Holding a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Alverno College,
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Marlis decided to start her own business, one that would
allow all of her fur friends to join her at work. “Becoming a professional
groomer has been the most exciting, diverse career I have ever had. I actually
get paid to receive lots of wags, woofs, purrs and kisses. It couldn’t
be more satisfying!”
Each day brings something new. Sometimes it’s an ordinary groom on an
extraordinary pet! Other days it’s an extraordinary groom on an ordinary
pet! Bottom line is that each fur friend is pampered like royalty and their
time spent at Cuties To Beauties Pooch Parlor is time that is well spent!
Executive decisions are made with the help of the staff, Barnum, Bailey, Bow
and Bridget. Full-time staff members, they are also responsible for welcoming
nervous Nellies, barking Beethovens, and timid Toms. Bow, recently promoted
to Director of Security, is also responsible for “sniffing out”
information . He takes that responsibility seriously and enjoys every second
of it!
